The Start of Something New

I always have insightful things to write when I'm thinking about what to write whilst lying in bed and then when I sit down to type, nothing. It's been 4 months since we've moved to North Carolina and I've been keeping busy with a couple of quilting projects and the odd decorated cookie. Now's the time, at least I think, to start thinking about what I want to be when I grow up. It's not completely clear but at least I know I want to have fun doing it. Baking cookies, cakes and desserts has always been a passion. I started my first baking business when I was in grade 6. Karen's Carrot Cakes was born when I decided I wanted to raise money to purchase an original Little Person, or as they became known as, Cabbage Patch Kid. Two hundren cakes later and a trip to Cleveland, Georgia, I adopted Sophia Anne. A soft sculpture doll that sat on a shelf of years. Now my daughter Abby, plays with her. So, in the end, totally worth it.

Now it's a few years later and it's time to start thinking about starting a home business again. Work for myself; the toughest person I know! LOL

So where did the name come from? I chose Trilogy because some of my favourite stories (english major) are in three parts (LOTR, Millenium Trilogy, etc) and Edibles because I wanted to convey more than just cookies and cakes. I also make a wicked pie crust!

So I've had the blog for a while. I've been making cakes for friends and family and will, of course, continue to do so and blog about it. I don't expect to make oodles and oodles of money or to be baking 24/7, but just enough to keep me off the streets and sane!

Moving into our new house will also help with the sanity. A little more space than the two rooms we've been living in will be awesome. The dog and cat will be happy too! Once we are little more settled, my plan is to play around with cake designs, cookies and I also have a few quilts to keep me busy and rounded.

If you like what you see or would like to talk about making something unique, just let me know.
