Treat Day Wednesday–Happy National Watermelon Day!

Well when I saw that it was National Watermelon Day I had to do something and since my kids love watermelon, it was an easy choice!

When I asked the girls what they wanted for treat day they said sugar cookies, so combine the two and this is what you get, voila!

I had thought of using chocolate as the seeds but got a resounding “NO” from Abby so I used a gourmet writer and drew them on.  They look pretty good, in my opinion!

And in typical fashion you can’t have watermelon without bites taken out of it!

Addendum:

I’ve had some questions about the cookie cutter I used.  I just used a round cutter and cut them into halves and quarters.  Then I used a fluted cutter and cut out the bite marks.

Thanks for looking!

  12. You've done a beautiful job on these. I like that you've done the slices and the little triangles of watermelon. That's how my kids eat watermelon. I'd like to invite you to share your recipe on A Well-Seasoned Life's Sweet Indulgences Sunday.
