Treat Day Wednesday–Brownie Pops

ok ok, I know what you’re thinking.  “She said she wasn’t going to do them again”  and by them you mean baked “pops”.  Well that’s right, I wasn’t. But the type A in me has to figure them out.  Not the baked part, the coating part.  I can’t help myself.

I made some brownie balls, for treat day on request from Abby, and felt I needed to figure these stupid things out.  So, I asked a few bloggy friends and tried a few of their recommendations.

  • melt on lower heat
  • remove from heat once melted
  • add some shortening (which I wasn’t keen on but by the time you’ve made a cake pop and covered in candy, what’s a little extra shortening in the grande scheme of things????)

Somewhat success, at least they were much better, not quite as drippy.

I’m feeling better about these little devils!  I do like making little brownie balls by using a mini muffin tin instead of mixing the brownies with icing.  A lot less sweet, some might call them healthier!

The girls loved them too. I also made some marshmallow pops too as they were a huge hit. I kept it simple, just pumpkins!

  1. I know how you feel - dipping pops and getting them to work are such a feat. These look great!

  2. You are a trooper for not giving up on these. Once was enough for me. These little pumpkins are just too cute!
