Ok, so it’s not Wednesday. You caught me. At least I made it :)
I’m currently 4 days post surgery and on the mend but still not 100%. I am a whole lot more mobile than I was and I can now sit for longer than 5 minutes but taking it slow. I can’t wait to be back to normal, I just have to be patient.
Now back to treat day.
My girls love fudge and they also love creamsicle ice-cream, something they learned from their father. I saw a version on Pinterest but didn’t like that it was made with marshmallow fluff. I HATE the stuff. I know that’s harsh but I feel the same about marshmallow fondant, ew gross. However, the idea for creamsicle fudge was brilliant. So into the kitchen to make my own version. The only thing I had to buy was orange extract flavour.
Recipe:
- 12 oz white chocolate
- 1/2 can condensed milk
- 2 drops orange extract
- Americolor orange gel colour
- In double boiler, melt chocolate.
- Add milk and combine.
- Divide the batter. Pour one half into 6” square pan.
- In other half, add orange extract and add a drop of colour. Mix thoroughly
- Take spoons full of the orange batter into the white side and then swirl the two together.
- Place in fridge until firm, cut into squares.
- Enjoy!
This was quite a hit in our house. It tastes just like the ice cream treat! I hope you’ll enjoy it in yours!
Thanks for looking!
Oh my gosh! The fudge looks SO GOOD!! Definitely something I want to try!
ReplyDeleteKaren, this looks amazing. We can't get Creamsicles in England and I haven't had one in years, but they were always my favourite. Maybe now I've got a freezer in our apartment in Canada I might get to try them again - but in the meantime this fudge will do nicely :)
ReplyDeleteI was so into the fudge I didn't read your first paragraph...and now I have! I'm glad the surgery is behind you. Take care and feel better soon. x
ReplyDeleteLOVE this Karen! LOVE. Pinned! And I'm glad you're on the mend!
ReplyDeleteI actually prefer marshmallow fondant to regular fondant. Anyhoo...this fudge looks awesome...a little envious of Rowan and Abby right now. Glad to hear that you are finally on the mend. Take care and be patient, you'll be back to you soon.
