Treat Day Wednesday–Chocolate Covered Oreos

coveredoreos1

I’m on the band wagon!  I’ve seen these for months and finally decided I would give it a try. My girls are worth it right?

I was at Joann’s the other day and all of their Halloween stuff was on 70% off and that’s my kind of shopping.  I picked up the Oreo mold and the fun skeleton molds.  I had candy melts at home from last week’s gingerbread houses.  (If you missed that, take a look.  The girls and I made some pretty fun haunted houses. ) I then followed the instructions on the molds and made my treats.  Then I added some embellishments.

My girls love Oreos and they are a huge treat in this house, because why would I buy store bought when there is always cookies in our house ;)

Now I only used one colour, so they were super easy.  I’ve heard that as you add more and more layers of colour, they are very time consuming. Maybe in the future.  On the one, the decorations are Oreo’s cookie part crushed and then I put the chocolate bones on top.  The other is a split Oreo topped with a black candy melt with a pit of green to make it look like an eye. I went with super easy!

So there’s only one week left before Halloween and I can’t wait. Not for the fun and frivolity of it all but because it’ll be finally over.  My kids are over the top with excitement this year.  I’ll have made three costumes, numerous themed treats, decorated the front with even more stuff than possible and created my first haunted house.  I’m done!

I hope you’ve enjoyed all these spooky treats!
