Happy Birthday!

Happybirthday

To whom you ask?  Well two very important people in my life.  Canada and The United States.  I mean, I am a Canadian who lives in the US and therefore must celebrate both birthdays right?  July 1st and July 4th!  Canada turns 146 and the US turns 237, so I decided to make something. I know you’re shocked.

I found some awesome cookie cutters at www.cheapcookiecutters.com and then I saw Jill at Jills Funky Cookie Studio post these amazing cookies she was sending to Afghanistan and I knew I had to make some too!

Jill always inspires me.

So, I pulled out my country cutters and had some fun!

Treat Day Wednesday–Getting Ready for the Great White North

IMGP0117

Sick of me talking about heading home yet?  Yeah, me neither :)

I was making cookies for a friend’s daughter’s birthday and I had some leftover cookie dough, so I thought I’d pull out last years maple leaf cutters and make some Canada Day cookies.

I’m not the only one who’s excited, the girls are too!  We are having a countdown to Friday when we leave after we pick up Rob from the airport.  Yup, he’s flying in from a two day business trip to Dallas and then into the car for the 16 hours north.  Going to be so fun…not.

Canada Day is Sunday and since I won’t be near a stove to make a Canada treat, I made them a few days early.

To all my Canadian Friends

HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!!
