Stained Glass, abstract cookies for the Moore, OK Relief Fund

abstractwine2

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!  A few weeks ago, Shannon from Artfully Delicious Cookies asked several of us cookier people if they would donate cookies to raise money for those affected by the F5 Tornado that tore through Moore, Oklahoma.  I of course said yes. I’ve never been through one before.  We didn’t get a lot of tornados in Ottawa, Canada or in Toronto where I grew up.  We moved into our house in Raleigh and within the first month there was a tornado that destroyed a large part of downtown, a hurricane and an earthquake.  While we weren’t directly affected by either, I saw the devastation that was left behind.  So can I make a couple cookies??? You bet I can.

I had originally offered up a dozen of my stained glass butterflies but my mum wanted some for her friends, I asked Kari who won my auction if she really wanted butterflies as I could do something else.  I was looking for a new challenge.  She just said she and her girl friends were going to have a cookies and wine party.  And there is my theme.

  1. These are so wonderful and what a lucky auction winner! Truly amazing the support that was shown though all the bidding. It was humbling to be a part of something like this, wasn't it? Helping people out and having fun doing it? Doesn't get any better than that! :)

  3. The generosity of each of the 24 cookiers and of all those who bid in the auctions is so heart-warming.

Karen, these cookies are truly beautiful, just like you. Kari and her friends really had some fabulous treats to go with their wine.
